Fun Facts About Me
If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
Fun fact: I already HAVE! My name at birth was Kristy, but I lengthened it to Kristin sometime in middle school, and had it legally changed a little later on. If I had to change it again, though, I would go with Elizabeth - a favorite of my mom's, but one that she didn't use because our last name was also pretty long.
What songs would be included on the soundtrack to your life?
It would be a VERY varied soundtrack! A few of the songs included would be The Sign, Two Princes, The Way, Macarena, One Week, When You Say Nothing At All (the Alison Kraus version), It's 5:00 Somewhere, Where I Belong, Black Socks (They Never Get Dirty), and Let It Go.
What movie or book makes you cry every time, no matter how many times you watch/read it?
Bridge to Terabithia. Yes, it's written for older kids, but it's still a great book. Dumbo. UP (just the beginning.) Anything by Nicholas Sparks. I stay away from most of his stuff, because I know the tears will be coming soon.
The best part of waking up is...
Are we going for honesty here? My favorite part of waking up is when I wake up waaaaaay too early and realize that I don't have to get up yet. And then going back to sleep.
What is one thing that you wish you would great at (but you’re not…)?
I so wish that I could sing. I couldn't carry a tune if it had handles...although that doesn't stop me from singing anyway, when no one is listening!
Are you a morning or night person?
I am absolutely, positively, 100% a night owl! I sometimes envy my husband's night shift job, because I'd be wonderful at staying up all night and sleeping through the next day...if only I didn't need to keep a "normal" schedule for the children!
What's your favorite color?
When I'm asked this question, I generally answer "clear." If I must choose an actual color, though, I'd have to say that it varies between pink, purple, and blue - depending on my mood.
Growing up, what was your dream job?
As a young child, I was fascinated with dinosaurs and wanted to be an archaeologist. Then - likely influenced by Clare Huxtable from The Cosby Show - I decided that I would be a lawyer instead. I also thought it might be nice to be a librarian, so I could read all day!
What is your favorite book?
I read a great quote once that said, "asking a bookworm to name their favorite book is like asking a mother to pick a favorite child." It's true! I love so many...but the three that come immediately to mind, the ones that I read over and over again, are The Night Circus, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and the Bible.
Summer or winter?
Winter, please. I actually prefer autumn to anything else, but I'd always rather be cold than hot!
Although Kristin has loved all things Disney since her first visit to Walt Disney World as a little girl, she fell head over heels in love with Magic Kingdom when her high school band was selected to march down Main Street as part of Disney's Magic Music Days. It was a hot day to be wearing a wool uniform, and her hat kept sliding down over her eyes, causing her to miss much of the scenery, but she knew right then that she'd be back as often as possible.
Now, Kristin lives in the same house where she grew up in southern Virginia, with her husband, who she has known all her life but didn't like very much until she was a teenager. They have two beautiful princesses, who share Kristin's affinity for Disney - the older of whom is counting down the days until she can apply for the Disney College Program, even though she's only just started middle school.
Kristin enjoys homeschooling her children, often reads two or three books at a time, loves to start new knitting projects that she rarely finishes, and secretly adores her minivan. She dabbles in photography, never folds socks, advocates for adoption and foster care, and is active in her church and in community theatre. She is still determined to spend as much time as possible with Mickey, and does not, under any circumstances, recommend packing a wool uniform for your Disney vacation.
Who is your favorite Disney character?
It's so hard to narrow this down - I have so many favorites! I've always loved Eeyore, because I just want to hug him; Stitch, because he's adorable no matter what he's getting into; and Belle, because we both love to read. (I may be the teensiest bit jealous of her library.) Favorite lesser-known character goes to Amelia Gabble, one of the geese from The Aristocats, because she and my younger daughter share a first name.
If you could have a job at Disney World what would you do?
I would love to be a maid at Haunted Mansion! I'm good at keeping a straight face and know that I could act the part - give me my apron now, please!
If you could be a character in a Disney movie or TV show, who would you be?
I'd happily join the cast of Once Upon a Time on ABC. Although I'm really a nice person, I think I play the villain quite well - Regina and I could be great friends!
If you could visit an empty Disney park, all alone, which would it be and what would you do?
I'd head straight for Magic Kingdom and make Gaston ride the teacups at Mad Tea Party with me. With no crowd slowing me down, I'd make great time playing the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card game. Then I'd grab a Dole Whip and, once it was nice and dark, take multiple trips through Haunted Mansion until I was joined by my favorite hitchhiking ghost.
If you could resurrect one retired Walt Disney World attraction, character, show, event, etc., what would it be?
My family and I all grieve the retirement of PUSH, the talking trash can that "lived" in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. We keep hoping he'll be brought back before our next visit!
What’s your favorite special event at a Disney park?
My favorite special event at a Disney park is actually something that happens every night, but not everyone knows about - the Kiss Goodnight at Cinderella's Castle. The first Kiss happens approximately thirty minutes after park closing. The castle is covered in twinkling lights as "When You Wish Upon a Star" plays, and then, through the speakers, a narrator wishes the remaining guests a good night and says a few words about Walt's vision for Magic Kingdom being "a world of imagination, hopes, and dreams." My older daughter and I stayed in the park after late night Extra Magic Hours just to see the Kiss Goodnight, and it was one of the highlights of our last trip. We were both sniffling by the time it was over - the Kiss is just magical. Wait for it on your next visit!
FAQs about my services:
Why are your services free?
Pixie and Pirate Destinations, nor myself, ever charges our clients anything for our services. I am paid commission from the companies I book vacations with - Disney, Universal Vacations, Norwegian Cruise Lines, etc. You will pay the same amount of money booking a trip with me as you would if you booked it directly through the company itself. And sometimes I am able to find a better deal because of the special promotions that are available. A reservation transfer may be an option if you have already booked a vacation.
As a Dream Vacation Planner (DVP) I work strictly off of commission and I hope that if you decide to book a vacation you will choose to book your vacation with me. Please keep this in mind if I do a lot of research on a vacation for you. Regardless of the number of hours I put toward helping a client plan, I am not paid hourly,

The first step in the vacation planning process is to request a quote for your desired Disney destination. How do I pay for my vacation?
To process deposits and payments for your vacation I will need your address, phone number and credit card information. I can either schedule a phone call for you to give this information over the phone, or you can use our
secure website to submit for a payment.
Pixie and Pirate Destinations, nor myself, will EVER personally make a charge to your credit card. You will see a charge from the Walt Disney Travel Company (or another travel vendor such as Universal Travel, Norwegian Cruise Lines, etc.). I use your card information to process your deposit or payment directly through the travel vendor (Disney, etc.). And your CC information will always be kept private. If you ever see a charge that you think is fraudulent contact your credit card company immediately.
What will you do for me that I cannot do for myself?
Of course you can book a Disney vacation on your own - that's easy! But when you book a Disney vacation with me you have my knowledge and experience to tap into at your disposal. You will be working with someone who "knows" Disney and understands how Disney travel can change minute to minute. In addition, you can count on the following "extras" from me:
