Fun Facts About Me
What is your biggest food weakness?
Baskin Robbins ice cream. One scoop of chocolate chip and one scoop of mint chocolate chip in cup please :) Growing up what was your dream job? I always wanted to be the Easter Bunny and a cheerleader. I got to do BOTH!! What is your favorite book? The Anne of Green Gables books by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Or anything by Jen Lancaster. Summer or Winter? Neither, Fall is my favorite season. The changing leaves, chill in the air and Halloween (my favorite holiday). Are you the oldest, youngest, middle or only child? I am an only child. Do you have any hidden talents? Not necessarily a hidden talent, but I am an avid cake decorator and have even participated in a few cake shows. What is your favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon? I am a huge Indianapolis Colts fan so during football season I will either be at the game or in my big comfy chair watching the game. During the rest of the year I am wishing for football Sundays! If you had to change your first name what would you change it too? Anything but Mary! My mother’s name is also Mary so I am a female “junior” They started calling me Mary K. just to distinguish me from my mom. I like Lilly, Sophia, Rayne or even Kate. What animal would you want to be and why? A phoenix. Such a strong, beautiful, mythical creature who every so often just bursts into flames and is reborn from the ashes. Kind of like life, when it crumbles around you then just rise again stronger than ever. Where were you born? In Jeffersonville, Indiana. It is a city just across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky. |
Mary
K comes to us from the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. She is a single
mother who has raised a daughter (Alannah), two cats (Samoa and Jeff
Saturday) and a dog (Scooby). In addition to being an avid Disney lover
she is an Indianapolis Colts superfan - hence her cat named after the
retired Colts center. Her background includes a Bachelor's Degree in
Criminal Justice and she worked in the legal field for over 10 years.
Now when she is not planning magical vacations for clients she
substitutes in the local school system.
In her spare time when she’s not traveling to a Disney destination, trading Disney pins, or planning magical vacations for her clients, Mary K enjoys cake decorating and scrapbooking. Her scrapbooking addiction comes in handy for all of her family’s memories of their own personal Disney vacations. Disney Q&A
What's your favorite event at a Disney Park?
I love gardening so definitely Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival. It always amazes me what the Disney horticulturists can create just using plants and flowers. Plus I like getting ideas to create in my own home garden. What's the one thing you have to take home from your Disney trip? I always buy one of the Stitch pins with the year on it. Also, I am one of THOSE people who has to take the shampoos and soaps. What is one guilty pleasure you have to indulge each time you go to Disney? An American Dream. The American Dream is red slushie, blue slushie and vanilla ice cream layered. You can find them at the Fife and Drum kiosk in the American Pavilion in Epcot. If you could have a job at Disney World, what would you do? I would love to work at the Confectionery or Bakery. Cake decorating is my next favorite thing besides Disney so combining the two would be a dream come true. Who is your favorite Disney character? Squirt, Orange Bird (more a Florida icon than Disney character), Snow White, Stitch and Malificent. If you could resurrect one retired Walt Disney World attraction, character, show or event, what would it be? The one I miss most is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. There was something magical about getting in that submarine and getting transported to the depths of the ocean. The Little Mermaid ride in Disneyland is similar to the 20,000 Leagues ride. |
FAQs about my services:
Why are your services free?
Pixie and Pirate Destinations, nor myself, ever charges our clients anything for our services. I am paid commission from the companies I book vacations with - Disney, Universal Vacations, Norwegian Cruise Lines, etc. You will pay the same amount of money booking a trip with me as you would if you booked it directly through the company itself. And sometimes I am able to find a better deal because of the special promotions that are available. A reservation transfer may be an option if you have already booked a vacation. As a Dream Vacation Planner (DVP) I work strictly off of commission and I hope that if you decide to book a vacation you will choose to book your vacation with me. Please keep this in mind if I do a lot of research on a vacation for you. Regardless of the number of hours I put toward helping a client plan, I am not paid hourly, Why should I book my vacation with you and Pixie and Pirate Destinations? I have an honest passion for Disney and the Disney destinations. And my Disney knowledge is up to date since this is my career. I have guidelines to follow that are put in place by Pixie and Pirate Destinations. I have been trained to provide you with the best customer service in the industry. And I am willing to work "with" you in planning your vacation. At Pixie and Pirate Destinations our motto is "go above and beyond for each client's individual needs." As a valued client, I will be here every step of the way to help you with your concerns or questions. You will have an email address and phone number where you can reach me when you need to. Once your vacation is booked I will continue to help with dining reservations, a personalized daily itinerary, an updated personal web page where you can track your reservation and more. I am here to see you through to the end of your vacation to make sure you have a magical time. What is the first step? The first step in the vacation planning process is to request a quote for your desired Disney destination. When you request a quote you have the option of choosing me as you DVP - so please be sure to click on my name or add it into the comments. Once I have your quote request I will listen to your needs and expectations, and guide you through the best options for your family. How do I pay for my vacation? To process deposits and payments for your vacation I will need your address, phone number and credit card information. I can either schedule a phone call for you to give this information over the phone, or you can use our secure website to submit for a payment. Pixie and Pirate Destinations, nor myself, will EVER personally make a charge to your credit card. You will see a charge from the Walt Disney Travel Company (or another travel vendor such as Universal Travel, Norwegian Cruise Lines, etc.). I use your card information to process your deposit or payment directly through the travel vendor (Disney, etc.). And your CC information will always be kept private. If you ever see a charge that you think is fraudulent contact your credit card company immediately. |
