A Turtle, a Bikini and a Ring - a proposal at Turtle Talk with Crush

We always visit The Seas with Nemo and Friends when we go to Epcot. I love going to the aquarium to see the fish, dolphins, and manatees. One thing we always do when we visit The Seas is to go to Turtle Talk with Crush. This is a great attraction that is fun for everyone. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Epcot. Turtle Talk with Crush is a show like no other at Walt Disney World. You walk in to this large room with what appears to be a large window to a large aquarium tank. This tank is a little different than the other tanks at The Seas because there is a hydrophone floating inside. Once all of the guests have taken their seats, a cast member gets everyone to call Crush to come out. Crush is the turtle from the Finding Nemo movie. After the guests have called out for Crush, the big guy swims in and starts talking to the audience. The coolest thing about this experience is that it always different. Crush takes some time to answer the questions of the humans in the human tank and teaches everyone the proper usage of the word “Dude,” which we find out has several different meanings. |

On our last trip to WDW we visited Turtle Talk like
always, but this time things took an unexpected turn. Crush answered a
couple of the little ones’ questions, but then said that he had some
questions for us. He went away and said he had something he was
curious about. He returned with a Buzz Lightyear toy. He asked what
it was and how it was used. The kids all shouted out the answers. Next he returned with a red bikini around his neck. He asked if
anyone knew what it was. Lots of people told him it was a bikini. One
little boy shouted out insistently that it was a bra. Crush seemed a
little embarrassed by this and said we would just call it a bikini. On
further inspection Crush found a name in the top. He asked if anyone
in the audience knew a Stephanie. The family in front of us started
shouting and pointing at a girl in their party. Crush asked the
embarrassed Stephanie to join him up front. She reluctantly joined
him. He asked if the bikini was hers, and she played along by telling
him it was. He then asked if Stephanie had a boyfriend with her. The
same family sent up a nervous young man. Crush turned to Stephanie’s
boyfriend and asked if he had anything he wanted to ask Stephanie. I
thought this was still a joke so I expected him to respond with
something silly like “why” or “how did she lose her bikini.” Instead
he got down on one knee and asked Stephanie if she would marry him!
The audience cheered and the family in front of us got very excited.
Stephanie was shocked! She said yes! Everyone cheered and clapped. The happy couple sat down and the show continued. At the end of the
show, after everyone left, the couple got to take pictures with Crush
and their family.
I loved this idea for a proposal. It was romantic with a touch of fun. There are tons of great places to pop the big questions at the Walt Disney World® Resort. If you are looking for some ideas just ask your DVP!
