Fun Facts About Me
What movie or book makes you cry every time, no matter how many times you watch/read it?
I cry at the end of Apollo 13 every single time! What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done? Study, take and pass the CPA exam. It was months of my life and it was so very difficult, but something I am very proud of The best part of waking up is? Folgers in your cup - sorry, couldn’t resist - I don’t even really drink coffee. The best part is the chance to make that day anything you want it to be, and better than the day before. What is your biggest food weakness? Mashed potatoes. I love them so much, that no matter how full I am, if I see leftover I will eat them If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why? On a Caribbean Island somewhere. I still want a town and places to go, people to see, but to wake up and fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the beach would make me so happy. What is one thing that you wish you would be great at (but you’re not…)? Playing the piano. I know the basics, but can’t really play and am in awe of people who are good at it. What is your favorite TV show of all time - you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it? Seinfeld! Seen them all, own all 9 seasons on DVD, and usually come up with a quote from a show to fit almost any life scenario that happens. Are you a morning or night person? As much as I don’t love getting up too early, I am most productive in the morning, my brain doesn’t function well late at night, I would rather be sleeping. Summer or winter? Summer! I live outside Chicago, and therefore get all the seasons, and they all have their moments, but there is nothing quite like the summer and being able to spend 90% of your time outside. Where were you born? Right here in good old Chicago (well, suburbs…) Born and raised mid-westerner |
Carly was born and raised in the southwestern suburbs of Chicago, and currently resides in a western suburb with her husband and two wonderful children that keep her busy. She graduated from the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign with a degree in accounting and became a CPA in 2004. She worked in public accounting until 2008 when her first child was born. It was then she decided being a stay at home mom was where she wanted to be, but as her kids got older and were off to school every day, she found herself looking for a little more. Therefore, her love of all things planning and organization related combined with her love of Disney brought her here.
Carly also loves to shop, go to the gym (something she never thought she would say), and be outside when the weather is nice. Her and her family love to take in the sites of Chicago, as well as travel and explore new places. You will most likely find Carly in line, to ride every ride Disney has to offer. She truly loves the way Disney can transport you to another place and time. Disney Q&A
Who is your favorite Disney character?
Genie from Aladdin. I always like the comedic relief. Do you consider yourself a Pixie or a Pirate? I’m a Pixie, as much as I may not want to think I am that girly, I really do just want to have on makeup, heels and a pretty dress. How old were you when you first visited Walt Disney World? 5 years old, many many years ago. If you had to choose one Disney destination to visit this year, which would it be – Disneyland, Disney World, or a Disney Cruise? A Disney Cruise because sailing around the Bahamas, and having a drink on Castaway Cay sounds amazing right now. If you could visit an empty Disney park, all alone, which would it be and what would you do? I would have to say Magic Kingdom. My favorite part of Disney is the rides, so to be able to go on anything without waiting in a line of any kind would be heaven. What is your favorite Disney attraction or show? I have always loved The Pirates of the Caribbean. The last time I was there with my sister I was 18 and she was 23, and we rode and got back in line to ride again like 4 times. It’s the greatest, and I have loved it since our first visit. |

Why are your services free?
Pixie and Pirate Destinations, nor myself, ever charges our clients anything for our services. I am paid commission from the companies I book vacations with - Disney, Universal Vacations, Norwegian Cruise Lines, etc. You will pay the same amount of money booking a trip with me as you would if you booked it directly through the company itself. And sometimes I am able to find a better deal because of the special promotions that are available. A reservation transfer may be an option if you have already booked a vacation. As a Dream Vacation Planner (DVP) I work strictly off of commission and I hope that if you decide to book a vacation you will choose to book your vacation with me. Please keep this in mind if I do a lot of research on a vacation for you.
