The Joy of the Mid-Day Break
_by DVP Caitlyn L
Now I know some of you are saying, there is so much to do and see at the Walt Disney World® Resort, how could we possibly take a mid-day break? I will counter with, how could you not? Whether or not you are traveling with little ones, teens, or just adults, a mid-day break is a must in my opinion. The mid-day break can save a great day from going bad quickly. By taking a break, if you have little ones, they can nap, if you have tweens and teens they can swim, and they may even nap as well. Take it from me, traveling with two teenagers who insist they cannot sleep during the day; they did, and then were up and ready to go to dinner and hit the parks for the evening. |
_My
husband and I often travel on our own without my Step-Daughter (much to
her dismay) and we too, take a mid-day break. Honestly we aren’t
getting any younger and we like to avoid crowds as much as possible. We
often head to the park that is open early, and hit the rides and shows
early and then are heading out of the park well before lunch. We don’t
often head back to the resort, sometimes we will Resort hop, or head to
Downtown Disney, before heading back to our resort, to relax in the room
or by the pool.
Now I know some of you are saying, what about the things you may miss in the afternoon. Well, there is that, and there are days that we don’t take a mid-day break, especially if we have decided to close a park down. We will sleep in, enjoy the Resort that morning and head to the parks just after lunch. I can hear you gasping. Yes we take a morning off from the parks, and hit the parks ready to go and if we are in Magic Kingdom we can catch the parade and enjoy the park as the sun goes down, and take in the beauty of the Magic Kingdom at night.
I will tell you this; it is far easier to take a mid-day break if you are staying on property. If you have little ones, I highly recommend staying on property, for the use of the Disney Transportation system, and you never really have far to go, to head back to your resort.
When you are planning your next Disney adventure, I highly recommend working in a mid-day break, or even a morning or evening off from the Parks!
