Disney World with "Mom to a Princess"
|
Client's Code Name - "Mom to a Princess" When was your Disney vacation? September 2011 |
How
far in advance did you start planning for your trip? What was the
planning process like - stressful, simple, overwhelming? In what way did
your DVP assist you with the planning stage?
We started looking into Disney in February 2011 (we had traveled in August 2010 so I had been thinking about it for a few months). The planning process was simple. I loved that Amanda was extremely helpful and answered all the questions I had.
How did you tell your family about the trip? Was it a surprise?
My husband & I had been talking about going for awhile and our 3 1/2 year old had been 2 times before so this trip was no surprise to her...I think she knew before we had put a deposit down that we were headed back to Disney World.
Which Disney Resort/Ship did you stay at? What did you think of the resort/ship?
We were booked at All Star Movies, upon arrival we were upgraded to Caribbean Beach. We never did find out the real reason for the upgrade(my guess is that ASM was over-booked). This was our first time at CBR and my husband fell in love with it. I just wish we had more time to actually explore the resort since there was so much to offer.
What are your family's favorite Disney characters? Did you have interactions with them while on vacation?
My 3 1/2 year old daughter loves the princesses! Ariel tops her list of favorites. We booked a few meals (1900 Park Fare, Cape May Cafe, Akershus) so we were able to get a little one on one time with some of her favorites.
What restaurants did you dine at?
We did breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, dinner at 1900 Park Fare, breakfast at Cape May Cafe, Via Napoli, Trail's End, Akershus and then some quick serves....Beaches & Cream and Casey's Corner. Of all the restaurants we had been to Cape May Cafe before and the others it was our first time.
What was your family's favorite ride or attraction? And why?
I must say my favorite was Toy Story Mania. My daughter however loved Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (both were her first time on them!!). I think my husband loved Haunted Mansion since one of the members of our family had never been on it before so he convinced a cast member to follow her around and scared the day-lights out of her she went running into town square!
What was the greatest advantage of booking your vacation with your personal DVP? Please be sure to list their name if you'd like.
There was no stress involved for me! Amanda answered all the questions I had (and I had quite a few since I had never booked with someone before). She made all the dining reservations for us which was a huge plus since I didn't even know where to begin.
Share one moment during your vacation that will always be a favorite memory.
The priceless look on my daughter's face when she found out her daddy and I had booked breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. It was a last minute addition to the meals we had already done. She loved that Ariel was there since she was one of the princesses we weren't able to find in the park.
If you had a funny moment during your trip where you could not stopping laughing, please share.
After we ate at Cape May Cafe we went into Epcot via the International Gateway. As we were walking in a cast member said 'Good Morning Princess' to our 3 1/2 year old. It was one of those early mornings so she wasn't in an overly friendly mood. My husband took it upon himself to answer the gentlemen (his name was Kevin) and the on going joke for the day was that my husband was now a princess instead of my daughter. Kevin even gave my husband a Mickey Mouse sticker to wear for the day!
What was one thing that really surprised you during your vacation? Maybe a ride that your family loved that you thought you wouldn't, or something special a Cast Member said or did.
The dining plan surprised me. This was our first trip that we actually took advantage of it. My husband couldn't believe that we had missed out on previous trips by not having it. I must say I brought home 27 Disney related snacks to share with friends & family because we didn't end up using all our credits while on our actual vacation.
Did you or anyone in your family have 'tears of joy' during your trip? Share the details.
I had 'tears of joy' watching my daughter's face after we got off Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Her first trip to WDW she was 20 months old so there were a bunch of rides we needed to hold her on. This trip she was 'a big girl' and she made the choice of what rides she wanted to ride. It made me realize my little girl is growing up!
Did you go through Disney withdrawals when you returned home? What was the best remedy?
I'm ready to go back!! The best remedy is looking at all the photos I took (over 800 of them!!)
Have you started planning your next Disney vacation? What will you do differently next time?
Our next trip is being 'talked' about. We aren't quite sure when we want to travel next year.
