What Would a Pixie or Pirate Do?
My kids (ages 21 and 11), my 1st granddaughter (we'll be celebrating her 1st bday while we're there, too!), and myself are planning a Disney vacation for my 40th birthday. We're going back to Disney World (it'll be my 18th time since I was born) and on my 1st Disney Cruise to celebrate my birthday. I need to know what would be the best place of both options (the cruise or the parks) to celebrate the actual day of my birthday. Do you have any ideas on how to REALLY play this special day up?

I think Disney in general is the very best place to celebrate! If it was up to me I would want my birthday to be at Walt Disney World! We can help you plan an extra special celebration on a private fireworks cruise. You can have a cake delivered and the boat decorated! What a wonderful way to turn 40....watching Wishes with your family!! You could create wonderful memories with your favorite people!

Well, I can only answer for Walt Disney World! If you decide to celebrate the actual day of your Birthday at the parks be sure to get a birthday button either at the front desk of your resort or at the parks. I would pick your favorite dining location to celebrate your birthday at, and possibly order a special occasion cake. I have celebrated my Birthday at Walt Disney World on several occasions. I don't really think there is a best place, but more what's your favorite place. For me it's Epcot and dinner at Kona Cafe at the Poly. I proudly wear my birthday button, and love getting Happy Birthday's from Cast Members and other guests. The occasional treat from the CM's or a fun phone call from Mickey or one of the gang! There are lot of things that you can do to make your day special! Happy Early Birthday!

Wow, so many 'magical' celebrations! Why not do both a Disney cruise and a Disney World vacation? Disney offers land/sea packages, so that you can experience the 'Magic' of both! I would start off with 3 or 4 days at the parks. WDW does such an awesome job at celebrations! I would pick your favorite restaurant or perhaps a character meal to celebrate and make it really special! You can request to have a cake brought to your table to celebrate (you can also have one custom-made) ahead of time. We can take care of those details for you:) After a few days at the parks, it would be nice to 'unwind' & relax on a Disney cruise. There is so much to see and do and lots of activities for children & adults!!

My family has been lucky enough to celebrate birthdays and special occasions at both Disney World and aboard a Disney Cruise ship. I think your choice is going to depend on personal preferences. If you want to experience your birthday in another country then a Disney Cruise is obviously your best option. Both WDW and the cruise help you celebrate in a special way. Be sure to tell your DVP the exact date of your birthday so they can list it on your reservation. Disney will make sure your day is special!
