What Would a Pixie or Pirate Do?
Now that Disney Cruise Line has announced next year's sailings, my family is interested in taking a cruise. Price will be a big factor but we are flexible with dates and itineraries. I think we'd prefer to sail out of Miami or Port Canaveral. How many nights is the 'perfect' number for first time cruisers? We are 2 adults and 2 kids- ages 13 and 4.

I would say if you are first time cruisers, I would suggest one of the shorter itineraries. This way if you decide that cruises are not for you, you are
not committed to anything longer then 3-5 nights. If you want a longer trip, you can always add a few days at Walt Disney World!

I think a 4 night cruise is a great option for first time cruisers. You can get a good feel for the ship and cruising in general. 3 nights feels incredibly short and 7 could be too long if you decide you are not a cruise fan. Personally I love 7 night cruises. When I got married it was on a 4 night sailing and all of my guests said after the fact, that they wish the cruise had been longer.
